Thomas Jordan "TJ" Trevelyan (born March 6, 1984 in Mississauga , Ontario ) is a German - Canadian ice hockey player who has played for the Augsburg Panthers in the German Ice Hockey League in the position of left winger since August 2011 .
Career
Trevelyan began his career in 2000 with the Georgetown Raiders in the Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League . There he reached 116 scorer points in 98 games in two seasons up to the spring of 2002. In his second season he was able to almost double his points and was voted the most valuable player of the team. After he had not been selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2002 by any franchise of the National Hockey League , Trevelyan moved to the US St. Lawrence University . So he preferred an education at a US college with ice hockey funding before moving to a higher class division of the Canadian Hockey League . Overall, the Canadian played four years for St. Lawrence University in ECAC Hockey , a division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association . The left winger, who went on the ice with Rich Peverley and John Zeiler, among others , was able to increase his point yield in each of the four years of play. In 2005 and 2006 he was elected to the First All-Star Team of the ECAC and in his final year of college was named Player of the Year in the ECAC Division and appointed to the NCAA First All-American Team. He was also one of the nominations for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award . In 2010 he was finally elected to the ECAC First All-Decade Team, which included the best ECAC players between 2000 and 2010.
After completing his college education, the undrafted striker was signed by the Boston Bruins from the NHL for two years . In the following two years they used him exclusively in their farm team , the Providence Bruins , in the American Hockey League . Trevelyan also played a few games in the ECHL with the Long Beach Ice Dogs in his rookie season , but through good performances he soon secured a regular place in the Providences squad. Ultimately, he came to 63 missions in his first year, in which he scored 28 goals and 53 points. After a slightly weaker, second AHL season, the Bruins did not extend the contract with Trevelyan, whereupon he was invited as a free agent to the Anaheim Ducks training camp before the 2008/09 season . This then took him under contract. As in Boston, the attacker did not make the leap into the NHL squad, but was sent to the AHL farm team Iowa Chops . With 47 points, he finished the season as the top scorer of the team that missed the playoffs this season. Since his contract had expired after only one season, the San Jose Sharks took the chance and took the winger on July 21, 2009 under contract. Finally, the Canadian, known for his scoring qualities, came to the Worcester Sharks in the AHL in the 2009/10 season . With 28 goals, he was the Sharks' most dangerous attacker. Trevelyan has been playing for the Augsburg Panthers in the German Ice Hockey League since the 2011/12 season . His contract, which expired after the 2015/16 season, was extended by one year in March 2016.
