Marco Sternheimer (born August 14, 1998 in Augsburg ) is a German ice hockey player who has played in the position of striker for the Augsburg Panthers in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) since 2018 .

Career

Marco Sternheimer went through all the junior teams of the Augsburg EV before signing a training contract to introduce him to the first team in the 2016/17 season . As part of this, he played a total of 42 games for ERC Sonthofen in the ice hockey league from January 2017 , scoring 21 goals and 24 assists. He also continued to play for the U18 juniors of the local AEV. In the 2017/18 season he played his first professional game against Adler Mannheim .

In the 2018/19 season , the left-handed shooter became an integral part of the team and was able to record his first DEL scorer point in the first game . On December 23, 2018, he then scored his first goal in the derby against ERC Ingolstadt .

International

Marco Sternheimer played three international matches for the U20 national team and 13 more in the younger age groups.

In February 2019, national coach Toni Söderholm Sternheimer nominated for the Top Team Beijing , an U25 selection for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games . In the game against Switzerland scored on 5 February Sternheimer in outnumbered his first goal for the U25 selection.
