Thomas Holzmann (born July 17, 1987 in Buchloe ) is a German ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Augsburg Panthers in the German Ice Hockey League since 2015 .

Career

Holzmann began his career in the junior team of ESV Kaufbeuren , with whose junior team played in the junior Bundesliga, among other things. In the 2005/06 season the winger was part of the squad of the professional team for the first time, with which he was henceforth active in the 2nd Bundesliga. The left-handed shooter was able to regularly perform well at Bayern, with 22 scorer points in 59 games in his first season . A year later Holzmann was able to increase his points yield again and ended the season with 37 points from 55 missions. This made the attacker one of the strikers with the highest points in the team.

Due to the performance shown, some DEL scouts became aware of the then 20 year old. After all, it was the people in charge of the Hannover Scorpions who made him a contract offer. Holzmann decided on the Scorpions and then switched to the German Ice Hockey League . The attacker was then given a funding license and was therefore also entitled to play for the cooperation partner, REV Bremerhaven . The striker spent most of the 2007/08 season there and only made four DEL games. Thomas Holzmann has a contract in Hanover until 2009 and will accordingly be on the ice in the 2008/09 season for both the Hanover Scorpions and REV Bremerhaven. For the 2009/10 season he signed a professional contract with the Kassel Huskies . A year later he followed his trainer Stéphane Richer to the Hamburg Freezers . From November 2010 it was used in parallel at the ETC Crimmitschau with a funding license .

From the 2011/12 season Thomas Holzmann played for the Iserlohn Roosters , after he had terminated his contract with the Hamburg Freezers by mutual agreement. In Iserlohn he signed a contract for two seasons. He then spent two seasons at EHC Red Bull Munich and has been with the Augsburg Panthers since 2015 . At the end of February 2016, Holzmann suffered a skull fracture in a collision with a teammate during an away game and was out until the end of the 2015/16 season.

International

In November 2009 Thomas Holzmann was appointed to the DEB squad for the first time before the Deutschland Cup - but he was not used during this tournament.
