Alexander Alex Lambacher (born October 7, 1996 in Brixen , South Tyrol ) is a German - Italian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Augsburg Panthers in the German Ice Hockey League since June 2019 .

Career

Alex Lambacher started in the junior division of HC Gherdëina . At the age of 14 he went to Germany, where he joined the Mannheim ERC . With the Palatinate, he first played in the school league, which was won in 2011 and 2012. He then moved to the German Junior League , which he won with the young eagles Mannheim in 2013, 2014 and 2015. After these successes, he moved to North America, where he played in the North American Hockey League for the Minnesota Magicians and Coulee Region Chill. In 2016 he returned to Mannheim, where he has been under contract with the Adler Mannheim professional team ever since. Most of his contract there, however, was awarded to lower-class teams: He played in autumn 2016 and in the 2017/18 season for the Kassel Huskies in the DEL2 and in the winter of 2016/17 for the Oberliga club Hannover Indians . He only played five DEL games for Adler Mannheim in the 2017/18 season . He made his DEL debut on November 21, 2017, when he was appointed to the squad to replace the injured Marcel Goc against EHC Red Bull Munich . In the 2018/19 season he played on loan at the DEL2 club Heilbronner Falken .

In June 2019, Lambacher was signed by the Augsburg Panthers .

International

For Italy, Lambacher, who has German and Italian citizenship, initially took part in the U18 Junior World Championships of Division I in 2013 and 2014 . With the Italian U20 team , he also played in Division I of the 2015 World Junior Championships .

In the senior division, Lambacher made his debut with the Italian national team in the 2015/16 season . He took part in the 2017 World Cup in the top division and in the 2018 World Cup in Division I.
