Henry Haase (born June 25, 1993 in Berlin ) is a German ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Augsburg Panthers in the German Ice Hockey League since 2018 .

Career

Henry Haase began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown with the Eisbären Juniors Berlin , for which he was regularly active in the German junior league from 2008 to 2012 . In the 2009/10 season the defender came as a loan player to his first senior appearances for FASS Berlin in the fourth-class ice hockey regional league . From the 2010/11 season he ran for the FASS in the third-class ice hockey league . In the 2011/12 season , the junior national player made his professional ice hockey debut for the Eisbären Berlin from the German Ice Hockey League . In his rookie year in the DEL, he remained pointless in ten games. In the 2012/13 season he was used again for the Eisbären Berlin in the DEL, the FASS as a loan player in the Oberliga and the Eisbären Juniors Berlin in the DNL. On the way to the championship title with the polar bears, he played in 22 DEL games (including six in the playoffs). Due to injuries to some regular players, Haase was regularly used in the defensive position of the DEL team in the 2013/14 season and was able to score his first DEL goal in the 3rd pre-play-off game against ERC Ingolstadt . In the two following seasons he prevailed as a regular player on the defensive position with the polar bears, where he was particularly noticeable for his physical readiness for action.

Somewhat surprising in relation to previous statements, Haase left the Eisbären after the 2015/16 season and was signed by the Düsseldorfer EG for two seasons. There he meets with goalkeeper Mathias Niederberger on a former Berlin team-mate. After these two seasons, his contract with DEG was not extended and Haase moved internally to the Augsburg Panthers , where he signed a one-year contract.

International

For Germany , Haase took part in the U18 Junior World Championships 2011 in Germany as well as the U20 Junior World Championships of Division IA 2012 and U20 Junior World Championships of the Top Division 2013 , with which he was promoted and a year later relegated could achieve in the top division. In April 2014, Haase was appointed to the men's national ice hockey team by the then national coach Pat Cortina to prepare for the World Cup.
