The Wanderers Germering are an ice sports club from the city of Germering in the Fürstenfeldbruck district with the ice hockey and figure skating departments .

ice Hockey

The history of the ice hockey teams in Germering begins with the ice sports club Unterpfaffenhofen-Germering von 1975 eV , founded in May 1975 , which was renamed the ice sports club Germering shortly afterwards and in 1995 became today's Wanderers eV Germering .

In the 1985/86 season the EV Germering took part in the Regionalliga Süd and reached the 4th place in the ice hockey Bayernliga in the 1992/93 season .

In the 1994/95 season the Wanderers Germering were champions of the Bavarian League before EV Fürstenfeldbruck and reached 2nd place behind SG Wernau / Esslingen in the promotion round to the 2nd League South , which qualified them for the qualifying playoffs. There they were subject to EA Schongau , where they played the second leg in the Olympic ice stadium in Munich .

After the possibility of moving up to the 2nd League South was waived in the summer of 1995 for financial reasons, after a few years the sporting descent into the Bavarian State League could not be prevented.

Despite repeated promotions to the Bayern League since then, the team was unable to stay in this division for more than one season - as was the case in the 2005/06 season when the Wanderers' team lost to ERC Sonthofen in 1999 in the 2nd round of the relegation playoff .

In the 2006/07 season, the 1st senior team managed to reassign themselves from the regional league to the Bayernliga as runner-up behind EHC 80 Nuremberg , while the 2nd team, which was back in this season for the first time, placed 5th in the regional league group East reached.

After the first senior team managed to stay up in the - fourth class - Bavarian Ice Hockey League in the 2007/08 season by winning the playdowns against the district neighbor EV Fürstenfeldbruck , the team rose again after the 2008/09 season. The 2nd senior team, which was reported to play again in 2007/08, took part in the - sixth class - Bavarian district league.

In 2009/10 the direct return to the Bayern League could be achieved.

In addition to the 1st senior team, which will take part in the fourth-class Bayernliga in the 2010/11 season , the 2nd senior team, which has been registered for play in the sixth-class Bavarian regional league, and the youth teams in all age groups, there are several more under the umbrella of the Wanderers Hobby teams.

In the 2017/18 season, the Wanderers Germering relegated to the state league. Due to financial hurdles, Germering voluntarily started a new start in the district league.

In the 2018/2019 season, the Wanderers Germering were able to successfully prevail in the district league group 3 and secure the championship in group 3 and participation in the playoff quarter-finals for promotion to the regional league before the last matchday. With the failure in the semifinals, the Wanderers had just missed promotion to the state league.
