The ice sports department was opened in 1979 with the completion of the new ice rink, initially with the ice skating and curling sections. In 1980 it was decided to found an ice hockey team, which played its first official game in November of the same year.

In the 1983/84 season, the Harsefeld Tigers were champions of the Lower Saxony state league and were promoted to fourth-class Regionalliga Nord for the first time . There the team finished sixth in the 1985/86 season and thus had to play in the qualifying round to avoid relegation, where they finished the season in fifth. In the following year , the team reached eighth and after the penultimate place in the table in the qualifying round missed the relegation again. In the 1989/90 season , the Harsefeld Tigers reached the qualifying round for Regionalliga Nord, but fifth and last place did not qualify for promotion, as did sixth place in the 1992 season and fifth place in 1993 .

It was not until 1998 that TuS Harsefeld qualified again for the fourth-class Regionalliga North / East, where it took fourth place among seven participating teams in the 1998/99 season . In 2000 , the Tigers finished the season in second place and thus reached the qualifying round for the Oberliga Nord , but missed promotion to the third highest division. The following year the club took eighth place in the regional league. The Harsefeld Tigers then started in the Regional Cup, where they took second place out of five participants in Group 2 and were therefore still qualified for the Regionalliga North / East.

In the 2001/02 season the team reached only place 10. In the subsequent relegation round to the Regionalliga Nordost, the TuS only took fourth and penultimate place, which meant the sporting descent. Then the Harsefeld Tigers started in the 2002/03 season in Group A of the Verbandsliga Nord, where they reached second place in the table. In the subsequent qualifying round for Regionalliga Nord, the Tigers qualified for the Regionalliga. In addition, the team started in the association cup, but retired in the first round at ESC Wedemark .

In the 2003/04 season , the Harsefeld Tigers started in the Regionalliga Nord. In addition, the 1b Junior Tigers won the championship in the Lower Saxony league. In 2005 , the first team was relegated from the regional league and finished the following season as the fourth best team in the Association League Northeast. In the 2006/07 season, however, the Tigers only finished 13th and last, while the 1b team was able to celebrate the championship of the Landesliga Nord. For the 2007/08 season, the club's management gave as the goal of the first team to achieve a place in the upper part of the table. The 1b team, meanwhile, defended the championship title of the Landesliga Nord at an early stage.

In the 2008/09 season, the Harsefeld Tigers appeared again in the Association League North and ended the season in fifth place in the table. The second team, the 1b Junior Tigers, reached third place in the national league north. In the 2008/09 season, a junior team under the name Young Tigers was reported for a long time , which competed in the junior Lower Saxony league and ended up in seventh place in the table among nine participants. The 1c team also play in the Landesliga Nord, while the 1d team, the Tiger Ducks , only play as a hobby team in friendly games, as do the club's youngsters, youngsters and boys. The school team competes in a syndicate with the Crocodiles Hamburg . There was also an inline hockey team called the Rolling Tigers .

In the 2011/12 season , as in the previous season, the Harsefeld Tigers competed in the Regionalliga Nord, currently the fourth-highest division in German ice hockey, and reached 9th place, which was not enough to keep them up. After the Tigers played in the - fifth class - Association League North in the 2012/13 season, the team played again in the Regionalliga Nord in the 2013/14 season by merging the Regional League and the Association League . In 2016 they withdrew from the regional league to the re-established association league. After an increase in the Regionalliga Nord, Harsefeld is again eligible to play for the Regionalliga in the 2018/19 season.
