Troy Grosenick (born August 27, 1989 in Brookfield , Wisconsin ) is an American ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League since February 2018 and for their farm team , the Milwaukee Admirals , in the American Hockey League plays.

Career

Grosenick played for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders in the United States Hockey League from 2008 to 2010 during his junior years . He then enrolled at Union College in New York State , where he was able to celebrate two ECAC Hockey championships between 2010 and 2013 with the local ice hockey program . The goalkeeper himself was honored with numerous individual awards during this time and was one of the three finalists in the selection for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award in spring 2012 .

In April 2013, the San Jose Sharks from the National Hockey League signed him as a free agent for a year, which they extended for another two years just three months later. From then on he played the following two seasons for their farm team , the Worcester Sharks , from the American Hockey League . During the 2014-15 season , Grosenick made his NHL debut for the San Jose Sharks. On his very first mission, he recorded a shutout with 45 shots blocked when he defeated the Carolina Hurricanes . He improved André Gill's existing NHL record from 1967 by four shots. His second use against the Buffalo Sabers he ended with a defeat.

At the beginning of the 2015/16 season , the American came to the San Jose Barracuda from the AHL, where he shared the goalkeeping position with Aaron Dell . At the end of the 2016/17 season Grosenick was elected to the AHL First All-Star Team and received the Aldege "Baz" Bastien Memorial Award as the best goalkeeper in the league.

In February 2018, the Sharks gave him, without Grosenick having completed another NHL mission, including Brandon Bollig to the Nashville Predators , who in return sent a six- round vote for the 2018 NHL Entry Draft to San Jose. With their farm team, the Milwaukee Admirals , he won the Macgregor Kilpatrick Trophy as the best team in regular time at the end of the 2019/20 season, which was shortened by the coronavirus pandemic . In addition, he and his teammate Connor Ingram won the Harry "Hap" Holmes Memorial Award as the duo with the fewest goals conceded, while he was personally honored with the Yanick Dupré Memorial Award for his social commitment.
