Bryan Muir (born June 8, 1973 in Winnipeg , Manitoba ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who was under contract with the Frankfurt Lions from the German Ice Hockey League between January and March 2009 .

Player career

The 1.93 m tall defender began his career with the University of New Hampshire team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association before he was signed by the Edmonton Oilers in 1995 .

In Edmonton, however, he was rarely used, most of the time he played for the Hamilton Bulldogs , a farm team of the Oilers in the American Hockey League . After his engagement in Canada, Muir moved to the New Jersey Devils in 1998 , other NHL stations were the Chicago Blackhawks and the Tampa Bay Lightning . During the 2000/01 season , the Canadian came to the Colorado Avalanche , with which he won the Stanley Cup for the first time in his career in 2001 . During the 2004/05 lockout season , Bryan Muir played for both MODO Hockey in the Swedish Elitserien and Espoo Blues in Finland . Via the Los Angeles Kings , Muir finally got to the Washington Capitals before the 2005/06 season , where he was initially a regular player. After he had not completed a single NHL mission in the 2007/08 season , the Canadian moved to the newly established Continental Hockey League for HK Dinamo Minsk . The defender left the Belarusian club after only six months when he signed a contract with the Frankfurt Lions, who had suffered many defensive injuries in early January 2009, until the end of the season.
