Pascal Trépanier (born September 4, 1973 in Gaspé , Québec ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who was last under contract with the Krefeld Penguins from the German Ice Hockey League .
Career
Pascal Trépanier began his professional career in 1994 in the East Coast Hockey League with the Dayton Bombers , after he was previously on the ice in the Canadian junior league QMJHL . His further career the defenders of the International Hockey League in the American Hockey League , where he in 1996 his skates for the farm team of the Colorado Avalanche , the Hershey Bears , unlaced.
In the 1997/98 season , the 1.80 m tall defender gained his first NHL experience for the Avalanche, he managed an assist in 15 games . For the next three seasons, Trepanier was on the ice for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim before returning to the Avalanche before the 2001/02 season . After a failed engagement with the Nashville Predators in 2002/03 , for which he only played once, the Canadian was again used exclusively in the AHL until he moved to the Nuremberg Ice Tigers in the German Ice Hockey League in 2004 .
Although he was able to reach the play-off quarter-finals with the Ice Tigers , Trepanier left Germany after a year to try his luck in Switzerland, where he ultimately could not prevail and so after just one season from the Swiss professional club SC Bern moved back to the DEL to the Adler Mannheim . With the eagles, the defender won the German championship in the 2006/07 season . His contract in Mannheim originally ran until 2011, but it became known that Trepanier has been playing for the Krefeld Penguins since the 2010/11 season .
