Langkow began his career in 1991 with the Portland Winter Hawks in the Western Hockey League , in which he distinguished himself by having played three seasons with at least 20 wins. In the 1993 NHL Entry Draft , the goalie was then selected by the Winnipeg Jets in the second round in 31st place, but where he was mainly used for the Springfield Falcons farm team . After the Jets moved to Phoenix , Langkow continued to stand in goal for the Falcons. There the goalkeeper became one of the top goalies in the American Hockey League , in which he won the 1998 Aldege "Baz" Bastien Memorial Award for best goalkeeper.
1999 Langkow moved to the Atlanta Thrashers , for which he completed 15 games in the National Hockey League before he was signed by the Anaheim Ducks . After two years in the minor leagues , the goalkeeper signed a contract with Porin Ässät from the Finnish SM-liiga , where he was on the ice for four years. After further guest appearances at HV 71 Jönköping and the Swiss national league team Rapperswil-Jona Lakers , the left catcher signed a contract with Jokerit Helsinki in 2007 . There he could not prevail against the number 1 Jussi Markkanen and switched to the Krefeld Penguins from the German Ice Hockey League for the 2008/2009 season . He played with the penguins until 2013.
