Lawrence Nycholat (born May 7, 1979 in Calgary , Alberta ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Krefeld Pinguine in the German Ice Hockey League since July 2011 .
Career
Lawrence Nycholat began his career as a hockey player with the Swift Current Broncos , for which he was active in the Western Hockey League from 1996 to 2000 . He was then signed as a free agent by the Minnesota Wild in 2000 , for which he never played. First he played in the 2000/01 season with the Cleveland Lumberjacks from the International Hockey League , as well as two years for the American Hockey League club Houston Eros . In early 2003, the Canadian was hired by the New York Rangers , for whose AHL farm team , the Hartford Wolf Pack, he was on the ice until 2005. He also played nine times for the Rangers in the National Hockey League in the 2003/04 season .
On August 9, 2005, the Washington Capitals Nycholat took as a free agent under contract, but he played in the following two seasons mainly in the AHL for their farm team, the Hershey Bears . In February 2007, the Capitals Nycholat were from the Ottawa Senators , with whom he stayed for a year before he was signed by the Vancouver Canucks before the 2008/09 season . Because of exceeding the salary cap , the Canucks struck the defender in the course of the season from the roster, so that the Calgary Flames signed him on March 3, 2009, which, however, transferred him to the Colorado Avalanche on the next day . In July 2009, the defender signed a contract as a free agent with the Vancouver Canucks, who used him exclusively in the farm team at the Manitoba Moose during the 2009/10 season . In September 2010 he took part in the training camp of the Washington Capitals, who sent the defensive player after two weeks on the farm team to the Hershey Bears in the American Hockey League, where the Canadian stayed the entire season.
In July 2011 Nycholat switched to the Krefeld Pinguine .
