The Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds began Brad Tiley's ice hockey career in youth. He first played for three years in the Ontario Hockey League .
In 1991 he then signed a contract with the organization of the Boston Bruins , which drew him in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft in the fourth round (84th position). But only a year he stayed with the AHL - Farm Team Maine Mariners . Because he switched to the Binghamton Rangers , but was also used in the IHL with the Phoenix Roadrunners between 1992 and 1994 . He then spent the following three years completely in the IHL, not until 1997 did he switch back to the AHL. Although the more offensive defender played most of the games with the Springfield Falcons , his engagement here also brought the first nine NHL appearances for the Phoenix Coyotes between 1997 and 2000 . Between 2000 and 2003 the father of three played in Philadelphia, mainly for the Phantoms in the AHL, but also twice for the Flyers in the best league in the world. In its 2004 season for the Milwaukee Admirals , the team won the Calder Cup . In the 2005/06 season he returned to the Springfield Falcons, but also played part of the season for San Antonio Rampage .
As a 35-year-old he signed for the 2006/07 season in Germany with the Iserlohn Roosters in the German Ice Hockey League , but only stayed one year. For the 2007/08 season he came to Austria for the EHC Black Wings Linz for the first time . However, his contract was not extended here either. He then signed a contract with Nippon Paper Cranes from the Asia League Ice Hockey , with which he could win the championship.
After the 2008/09 season, the Canadian ended his active career and then worked as an assistant coach for the Owen Sound Attack from the Ontario Hockey League.
