Nathan Dempsey (born July 14, 1974 in Spruce Grove , Alberta ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player who has played for the Toronto Maple Leafs , Chicago Blackhawks , Los Angeles Kings and Boston Bruins in the National Hockey League , among others .
Career
As a junior he played with the Regina Pats in the Canadian Junior League Western Hockey League with Jeff Friesen and Jeff Shantz, among others . He was selected during the 1992 NHL Entry Draft by those in charge of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the eleventh round at a total of 245th position. From 1993, he put the Leafs in their AHL - farm team , the St. John's Maple Leafs one. In the 1996/97 season he made his NHL debut. Until 2002, however, he only came to 48 missions in Toronto.
He moved to the Chicago Blackhawks at the beginning of the 2002/03 season . There he was able to become a regular player, but was given up to the Los Angeles Kings at the end of his second season . During the player strike in the 2004/05 season , the left shooter was under contract with the Eisbären Berlin from the German Ice Hockey League . The native Canadian won the German championship with the polar bears . Dempsey was used in 22 games and scored eight points scorer.
In summer 2005 he returned to North America to join the Los Angeles Kings team. On August 7, 2006, the Boston Bruins took him under contract, for which he completed only 17 league games and most of the time for the farm team, the Providence Bruins , was on the ice. In the 2007/08 season he played in Switzerland for SC Bern .
