Career

Kevin Todd began his active career with the Winnipeg Stars in the MMMHL , for which he was active in the 1984/85 season. He then joined the Prince Albert Raiders and went on the ice for their team in the Canadian top junior league WHL for the next three years . During this time, he was selected in the 1986 NHL Entry Draft in the seventh round at a total of 129th position by the New Jersey Devils . In the 1988/89 season Todd completed his first game for the New Jersey Devils in the NHL, but was mostly for their farm team at the time , the Utica Devils , in the American Hockey League . In the 1990/91 season the attacker scored 118 points in 75 games for the Utica Devils and was awarded the John B. Sollenberger Trophy as the best scorer of the regular season . He also received the Les Cunningham Award as MVP in the same season . For the following season he was exclusively for the New Jersey Devils in the NHL, scored 63 points in a total of 87 games and was elected to the NHL All-Rookie Team .

In the following season he could not build on these services and transferred to the Edmonton Oilers on January 13, 1993 in an exchange deal with Zdeno Cíger . In return, the experienced Bernie Nicholls went to the Devils. After 25 games for the Oilers, in which Todd had scored 13 points, he was again in a barter on October 7, 1993, this time to the Chicago Blackhawks . It didn't last long in Chicago either and in the same season the attacker left the Blackhawks and was sent to the Los Angeles Kings . In the following two seasons he managed to increase his points yield, but was not offered a contract extension in the summer of 1996. On July 10, 1996, he signed as a free agent with the Pittsburgh Penguins . Before the start of the 1996/97 season , the Penguins put him on the waiver list , from which the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim selected him.

In his first season in Anaheim, Todd completed 69 NHL games for the Californians and scored 30 points. He reached after a first-round success against the Phoenix Coyotes with the team in the second playoff round and failed in four games against the eventual Stanley Cup winner Detroit Red Wings . After he had played 27 games for the Mighty Ducks in the following season, Todd was sent to their farm team, the Long Beach Ice Dogs , in the International Hockey League by the end of the season . After the Canadian had not received a new contract with the Californians, he signed for the 1998/99 season with EV Zug . After 45 appearances and 52 points for EV Zug in National League A , he ended his active career after this season.
