Eric Nickulas (born March 25, 1975 in Hyannis , Massachusetts ) is an American ice hockey player who was last under contract with ERC Ingolstadt in the German ice hockey league .
Career
Eric Nickulas was selected as the 99th overall player by the Boston Bruins during the 1994 NHL Entry Draft in the fourth round . Initially, however , the winger played for three years for the ice hockey team of the University of New Hampshire in the game operations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association and one season for the Orlando Solar Bears from the International Hockey League . In the summer of 1998 Nickulas was added to the roster of the Boston farm team , the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League , with whom he won the Calder Cup in his first AHL season . In addition, the attacker made his debut in the National Hockey League , in which he remained pointless in two games for the Boston Bruins. The following two seasons Nickulas continued to play for both Boston and their Providence farm team.
In the summer of 2001, the American moved to Worcester IceCats from the AHL, for which he ran for the next two years. On July 16, 2002 Nickulas signed a contract as a free agent with the NHL club St. Louis Blues . After the striker was canceled by the Blues for exceeding the salary cap , he received a contract with the Chicago Blackhawks on February 24, 2004 . By the end of the season Nickulas played 21 times for the Blackhawks before he was on the ice during the lockout in the 2004/05 NHL season for Chicago's farm team from the AHL, the Norfolk Admirals .
On August 23, 2005 Nickulas returned as a free agent to his ex-club, the Boston Bruins . As it was in the 2005/06 season played but only 16 times for Boston in the NHL and the rest of the season at the farm team Providence Bruins spent, the American was on 19 June 2006 by the Hannover Scorpions of the German Ice Hockey League is committed . After two years in which he reached the play-offs with Hanover, Nickulas left the Scorpions in June 2008 and signed a contract with league rivals ERC Ingolstadt .
