Hyannis is the largest of seven Villages of the city Barnstable in eastern US -amerikanischen state of Massachusetts .
Hyannis has a population of 20,097 (as of 2000 USCensus ) and is the seat of the Barnstable City Council. The place is a transportation hub of Cape Cod with ferry connections to the islands of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard .
Well known is the exclusive Hyannis Port district on the harbor, where the Kennedys own houses. The local JFK Hyannis Museum has a detailed account of John F. Kennedy's time in Hyannis.
Sports
The Hyannis Harbor Hawks baseball team plays in the Cape Cod Baseball League .
