Lonny W. Bohonos (born May 20, 1973 in Winnipeg , Manitoba ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League for the Vancouver Canucks and the Toronto Maple Leafs and in the German Ice Hockey League for the Adler Mannheim .
Player career
The 1.80 m tall winger began his career with various teams in the Canadian Junior League WHL , before he was signed by the Vancouver Canucks in 1994 as a WHL top scorer but still an undrafted free agent .
First, the right shooter when was AHL - farm team of the Canucks, the Syracuse Crunch , used in the 1995/96 season completed Bohonos then his first three NHL inserts for Vancouver. In the following years, the Canadian commuted between farm teams and NHL squads, this did not change after his move to the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 1997/98 season , where he was mostly only used with the St. John's Maple Leafs .
After a year with the Manitoba Moose in the International Hockey League , Bohonos moved to HC Davos in the Swiss National League A in 2000 , where he was on the ice for Davos until 2004 and later for the ZSC Lions . In the 2001/02 season he won the Swiss championship title with Davos and the Spengler Cup in 2000 and 2001 . After another year in the United States with the Chicago Wolves , Bohonos moved to the 2005/06 season for DEL record champions Adler Mannheim , where he had to end his career after a season due to a serious injury to his cervical spine.
