Andre Ronald Savage (born May 27, 1975 in Ottawa , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who played for the Nuremberg Ice Tigers in the German Ice Hockey League until 2010 .

Career

Savage began his professional career in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association , a league in the game operations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association , at Michigan Technological University . There the center played an important role and was often one of the best scorers on points on his team.

After four years in Michigan, the Boston Bruins became aware of the right-handed shooter and signed him in 1998. In the Bruins, however, Savage was mainly used in the farm team , the Providence Bruins . In total, the Canadian belonged to the Boston franchise for three years and in the end came to 50 NHL games for the Bruins, in which he was able to achieve 21 scorer points . After a brief interlude with the Manitoba Moose , the attacker moved to the Philadelphia Flyers for the 2002/03 season , where he was also mainly used in the farm team and only completed 16 games in the NHL.

In the following two years Andre Savage changed clubs three times. Career stations were again the Providence Bruins and the San Antonio Rampage in the American Hockey League . Since a jump into the National Hockey League now seemed unlikely, Savage decided for the first time in his career to sign with a European club. From the 2005/06 season the attacker played in the second highest Swedish league, HockeyAllsvenskan , with the Malmö Redhawks . In 2006 the striker signed a contract with the Nürnberg Ice Tigers , where he became an important part of the offensive.
