He previously played over 200 NHL games for the Nashville Predators , New York Islanders , Minnesota Wild and Colorado Avalanche .

Career

The 1.80 m tall center began his career in the team of the University of Minnesota in the game operations of the NCAA , before he was selected ( drafted ) in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft as 233rd in the ninth round of the Phoenix Coyotes .

During his time in Phoenix, however, the left shooter completed only a few NHL games, most of the time he spent with the Springfield Falcons , a farm team of the Coyotes in the American Hockey League . This did not change at Smith's next NHL station, the Nashville Predators , only for the New York Islanders and the Minnesota Wild the attacker was on the ice more regularly.

On August 20, 2007, Wyatt Smith was hired by the Colorado Avalanche as a free agent , but then sent to cooperation partner Lake Erie Monsters in the AHL in December of the same year . After the season, the Canadian moved to the Tampa Bay Lightning , who use him in the following years mainly with the Norfolk Admirals in the AHL.

In September 2010, Smith signed a one-year contract with the Boston Bruins . He played until the end of the year for the farm team of the Bruins the Providence Bruins in the AHL. At the end of the year he moved to Europe for the DEL and signed a contract with ERC Ingolstadt . After the 2010/11 season he ended his career.
