Jochen Reimer (born September 6, 1985 in Mindelheim ) is a German ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with ERC Ingolstadt in the German ice hockey league since May 2017 .

Career

Reimer began his career in the junior national league at ESV Kaufbeuren , where he played between 2001 and 2003. In the 2003/04 season Reimer was then in goal with the league team EA Kempten and in the 2004/05 season Reimer was under contract with the Hamburg Freezers in the DEL as a backup and had some missions for the ESV Kaufbeuren in the 2nd Bundesliga , where he returned at the beginning of the 2005-06 season.

After a very successful season in the 2nd Bundesliga, Reimer signed a contract with the DEG Metro Stars in the DEL for the 2006/07 season and was occasionally used with the Moskitos Essen in the 2nd Bundesliga with a subsidy license . This was also done in the following season , but Reimer made his first DEL appearances in a row this season , as regular goalkeeper Jamie Storr was out due to injury for a long time this season. Reimer was not particularly convincing during his first Storr representation. The DEG fell continuously in the table. During his second Storr replacement, Reimer, who was still inexperienced in DEL at the time, appeared visibly more stable.

After the Moskitos Essen had to file for bankruptcy, DEG found a new cooperation partner in the second division EHC Munich for the 2008/09 season, where Reimer formed the goalkeeper trio together with Jochen Vollmer and Peter Holmgren . In December 2008 Reimer stepped in again for Storr, who had an injured knee, and impressed with consistently strong performances, which is also recorded by his goalkeeping figures: he increased his catch rate from 88.8% to 93.6%, but his goalscoring rate also improved significantly. He no longer conceded an average of 3.58 goals per game, but only 2.01. This season, he ranked eighth of the best DEL-keeper who annually by an expert committee of the journal Hockey News are determined. After his DEL breakthrough, Reimer received a contract with Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg , for whom he went on the ice from 2009 and formed a goalkeeper duo with Daniar Dshunussow . Already in his first season with the Grizzlys, he knew how to convince and was able to improve from eighth to fifth place among the best goalkeepers and reached the DEL semifinals with his team - after third place in the main round.

After the main round in 2010/11, the now 25-year-old goalkeeper was named the best keeper of the DEL and confirmed his steadily increasing form curve since 2007. Reimer conceded an average of only 1.95 goals per game in 29 main round games and thus achieved the lowest average against goals in the league.

Reimer has been in the goal of EHC Red Bull Munich since the 2011/12 season and was named the best goalkeeper in the DEL for the second time in a row, having once again achieved the lowest goals against goals and the best catch rate in the league. On April 8, 2014, the Nürnberg Ice Tigers announced the signing of Jochen Reimers, younger brother of winger Patrick Reimer , who had been under contract since 2012 . He was given a three-year contract until 2017. In May 2017 Reimer left the Ice Tigers and moved within the DEL to ERC Ingolstadt .

International

At the 2011 World Championships belonged Reimer, who was never considered at junior level for international competitions, the first time the squad of the German national team , but came to no use. Subsequently, he was repeatedly used in friendly matches until 2014. However, he was no longer nominated for major events such as World Championships or Olympic Winter Games.
