Vaiges is a French commune with 1,167 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Mayenne in the region Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the arrondissement of Mayenne and the canton of Meslay-du-Maine (until 2015: canton of Sainte-Suzanne ).

Geographical location

The community is located around 40 kilometers west of Le Mans . Neighboring municipalities are Saint-Léger in the northeast, Saint-Jean-sur-Erve in the east, Saint-Pierre-sur-Erve and Saulges in the southeast, La Bazouge-de-Chemeré in the south, Saint-Georges-le-Fléchard in the southwest, Soulgé -sur-Ouette in the west and La Chapelle-Rainsouin in the northwest.

The municipality is crossed by the Vaige river, which drains south to the Sarthe .

The A81 motorway , which also has a junction here, runs through the community .
