Montenay is a French commune with 1,361 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Mayenne in the region Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Mayenne and the canton of Ernée . The inhabitants are called Montenegro .
geography
Montenay is about 33 kilometers north-northwest of Laval . Montenay is surrounded by the neighboring communities Ernée in the north and west, Saint-Denis-de-Gastines in the north and northeast, Vautorte in the east, Chailland and Saint-Hilaire-du-Maine in the south and Juvigné in the southwest.
