Averton is about 20 kilometers west-southwest of Alençon . Averton is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Crennes-sur-Fraubée in the north and north-west, Gesvres in the east, Saint-Paul-le-Gauthier in the south-east, Saint-Aubin-du-Désert in the south, Courcité in the south-west and Villaines-la-Juhel in the West.
