Lignières-Orgères is a French municipality with 742 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Mayenne in the region Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Mayenne and the canton of Villaines-la-Juhel (until 2015: canton of Couptrain ).
geography
Lignières-Orgères is the northernmost municipality in the Mayenne department. It is located about 40 kilometers northeast of Mayenne and about 24 kilometers west-northwest of Alençon . It belongs to the Normandy-Maine Regional Nature Park . The Doucelle flows through the municipality . Lignières-Orgères is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Joué-du-Bois in the north, Carrouges in the northeast, Saint-Martin-des-Landes in the east and northeast, Ciral in the east and southeast, Pré-en-Pail-Saint-Samson with Saint- Samson in the south and south-east, Saint-Calais-du-Désert in the south, La Pallu in the south-west, Saint-Patrice-du-Désert in the west and La Motte-Fouquet in the north-west.

In 1973 the previously independent municipalities of Lignières-la-Doucelle and Orgères-la-Roche were merged to form today's municipality.
