Carrouges is a French municipality with 672 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Orne in the region of Normandy . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Alençon and the canton of Magny-le-Désert (until 2015: canton of Carrouges ). The inhabitants are called Carrougiens .
geography
Carrouges is located about 22 kilometers northwest of Alençon and is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sainte-Marguerite-de-Carrouges in the north, Saint-Sauveur-de-Carrouges in the northeast, Chahains in the east, Saint-Martin-des-Landes in the south, Lignières- Orgères in the south-west, Joué-du-Bois in the west and north-west and Saint-Martin-l'Aiguillon in the north-west. The community is part of the Normandy-Maine Regional Nature Park , where the administrative center is also located.
