Reorganization of the arrondissements in 2017
As a result of the reorganization of the arrondissements in 2017, the arrondissement Alençon became the area of the eleven commons Avrilly , Champsecret , Domfront en Poiraie , La Ferté-Macé , Lonlay-l'Abbaye , Lonlay-le-Tesson , Les Monts d'Andaine , Saint -Bômer-les-Forges , Saint-Brice , Saint-Clair-de-Halouze and Saint-Gilles-des-Marais were assigned to the Arrondissement of Argentan and the area of the commune of Godisson to the Arrondissement of Mortagne-au-Perche .
For this purpose, the eight municipalities of Almenêches , La Bellière , Boissei-la-Lande , Le Château-d'Almenêches , Francheville , Médavy , Montmerrei and Mortrée as well as the area of the former municipality of Marmouillé from the Arrondissement Argentan and the areas of the five municipalities became the arrondissement Alençon Assigned to Barville , Buré , Saint-Julien-sur-Sarthe , Saint-Quentin-de-Blavou and Vidai from the Arrondissement of Mortagne-au-Perche .
