Livaie is a village and a former French community with 199 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Orne in the region Normandy (before 2016 Basse-Normandie ). It belonged to the Arrondissement of Alençon and the canton of Magny-le-Désert ( Carrouges until 2015 ). The inhabitants are called Livayens .

With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Fontenai-les-Louvets , Longuenoë , Livaie and Saint-Didier-sous-Écouves were merged to form the Commune nouvelle L'Orée-d'Écouves and have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are located in Livaie.

geography

Livaie is about thirteen kilometers northwest of Alençon . The village is part of the Normandy-Maine Regional Nature Park .
