L'Orée-d'Écouves

L'Oree-d'Écouves is a French municipality with 737 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Orne in the region of Normandy . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Alençon and the canton of Magny-le-Désert .

It was created with effect from January 1, 2019 as Commune nouvelle through the amalgamation of the formerly independent municipalities Fontenai-les-Louvets , Livaie , Longuenoë and Saint-Didier-sous-Écouves , which have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are located in Livaie.

L'Orée-d'Écouves is located about thirteen kilometers northwest of Alençon and is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Lande-de-Goult and Tanville in the north, Le Bouillon in the northeast, Saint-Nicolas-des-Bois in the east, Cuissai and Saint- Denis-sur-Sarthon in the south, La Roche-Mabile in the south-west, Saint-Ellier-les-Bois in the west and Rouperroux in the north-west.
