Magny-le-Desert is a French commune with 1,400 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Orne in the region of Normandy . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Alençon and the canton of Magny-le-Désert (until 2015: Canton La Ferté-Macé ), of which it is the main town. The inhabitants are called Magnaciens .

geography

Magny-le-Désert is about 33 kilometers northwest of Alençon . The parish is part of the Normandy-Maine Regional Nature Park . Magny-le-Désert is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Beauvain in the north, La Chaux in the northeast, La Motte-Fouquet in the east, Saint-Patrice-du-Désert in the south and east and La Ferté-Macé in the west.
