Joue-du-Bois is a French commune with a population of 422 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Orne in the region of Normandy . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Alençon and the canton of Magny-le-Désert (until 2015: Canton Carrouges ). The inhabitants are called Gaudiacéens .

Joué-du-Bois is located about 28 kilometers northwest of Alençon in the Normandy-Maine Regional Nature Park . It is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Rânes in the north, Le Champ-de-la-Pierre in the east and northeast, Saint-Martin-l'Aiguillon in the east, Carrouges in the southeast, Lignières-Orgères in the south, La Motte-Fouquet in the west and South-west, Magny-le-Désert in the west and La Chaux in the west and north-west.
