Chailland is a French commune with 1,171 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Mayenne in the region Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Mayenne and the canton of Ernée (until 2015: canton of Chailland ). The inhabitants are called Chaillandais .

geography

Chailland is located about 18 kilometers north-northwest of Laval on the Ernée . Chailland is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Montenay in the north, Placé in the northeast, La Bigottière in the east, Saint-Germain-le-Guillaume in the east and southeast, Andouillé in the southeast, La Baconnière in the south and Saint-Hilaire-du-Maine in the west.
