Gesnes is about 18 kilometers east-northeast of Laval . Gesnes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Bazouge-des-Alleux in the north, Saint-Ouën-des-Vallons in the northeast, Montsûrs with Montsûrs-Saint-Céneré in the south and east and Châlons-du-Maine in the west.
