The Canton Montsûrs was 2015 a French constituency in the district Laval , in Mayenne and the region Pays de la Loire ; its main town was Montsûrs .

geography

The canton of Montsûrs was on average 110 meters above sea level, between 62 meters in Saint-Céneré and 151 meters in Montourtier. It was located in the center of the Mayenne department and bordered the cantons of Bais, Évron and Sainte-Suzanne to the east, the Meslay-du-Maine canton to the south, the Argentré canton to the west and the Mayenne-Est canton to the northwest and north .

history

The canton was created in 1801 from the merger of the previous cantons of Montsûrs, Ouen-des-Oyes (now Saint-Ouën-des-Vallons) and Sougé (now Soulgé-sur-Ouette).
