The Canton Laval Sud-Ouest was 2015 a French canton in the Arrondissement Laval , in Mayenne and the region Pays de la Loire .
geography
The canton was in the center of the Mayenne department. It bordered in the north on the canton Laval-Nord-Ouest, in the east on the canton Laval-Sud-Est and in the south and west on the canton Saint-Berthevin.
Communities
The canton consisted of some (southwest) districts of the city of Laval.
history
The area belonged to the canton of Laval from 1793-1801. This was divided into the cantons Laval-Ouest and Laval-Est in 1801. In 1973 the French government separated the urban area even further and the new canton Laval-Sud-Ouest (as well as the canton Laval-Noed-Ouest) emerged from the previous canton Laval-Ouest. Thus, the canton Laval-Sud-Ouest existed in this form from 1973 to 2015.
