Until the nationwide reorganization of the cantons in March 2015, the canton of Évron consisted of the eleven municipalities of Assé-le-Bérenger , Châtres-la-Forêt , Évron (capital), Livet , Mézangers , Neau , Saint-Christophe-du-Luat , Sainte- Gemmes-le-Robert , Saint-Georges-sur-Erve , Vimarcé and Voutré . Its layout corresponded to an area of 228.20 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 5311.

history
The canton was created in 1801 from the merger of the previous cantons Assé-le-Berenger, Evron (now Évron) and Saint-Gemmes (now Saint-Gemmes-le-Robert).
