The canton of Mayenne-Ouest was a French canton in the arrondissement Mayenne , in the department of Mayenne and in the region of Pays de la Loire until 2015 ; its main town was Mayenne .

The canton of Mayenne-Ouest was at an altitude of 67 meters in Saint-Germain-d'Anxure and 221 meters in Saint-Georges-Buttavent.
It was located in the north of the Mayenne department and bordered in the north on the canton Ambrières-les-Vallées, in the east on the canton Mayenne-Est, in the southwest on the canton Chailland, in the west on the canton Ernée and in the north-west on the canton Gorron.

history
The canton was created in 1801 from the amalgamation of the cantons Alexain, Georges-Buttavent (now Saint-Georges-Buttavent) and Oisseau, as well as the western part of the city of Mayenne. It was called Mayenne-Sud-Ouest in 1801, but was given its current name a year later.
