Frédérick Gaudreau (born May 1, 1993 in Granby , Québec ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League since January 2016 and since October 2014 for their farm team , the Milwaukee Admirals , in the American Hockey League plays on the position of the center .

Career

Gaudreau played during his junior years between fall 2011 and November 2013 for the Cataractes de Shawinigan in the Québec Major Junior Hockey League . With the team he won the prestigious Memorial Cup in spring 2012 . After a little more than two years in Shawinigan, the striker moved within the league to the Voltigeurs de Drummondville , where he finished his career with the juniors and was awarded the Frank J. Selke trophy for the fairest athletic player in the league. In the course of the game, Gaudreau had only spent two minutes in the penalty box.

Without drafting , the French-Canadian switched to the professional field in the summer of 2014 and signed a one-year contract with the Milwaukee Admirals from the American Hockey League , who also used him in the ECHL at the Cincinnati Cyclones during the season . Due to his performance, the expiring contract was renewed before the 2015/16 season . After Gaudreau had developed into one of the cornerstones of the Admirals' team during the course of the game, the Nashville Predators from the National Hockey League , who were in cooperation with Milwaukee, became aware of the center forward. In January 2016 he finally received a two-year NHL entry contract . Over the course of the season, however, he stayed in the AHL and only made his NHL debut for the Predators shortly after the start of the 2016/17 season . At the end of the season he reached the final of the Stanley Cup with Nashville, but lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins there .
