Career
Bruce Richardson began his career in 1993 with the Sherbrooke Faucons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League . He stayed here for three and a half years before joining the Chicoutimi Saguenéens for a year and a half .
In the 1997/98 season he played his first professional games in the East Coast Hockey League and the American Hockey League . By 2005, the left shooter played eight seasons in North America for nine different clubs in four leagues.
For the 2005/06 season he signed a contract with the Iserlohn Roosters in the German Ice Hockey League . There he was given the task of leading the young fourth row. The husband and father of a son was considered a very robust player and was supposed to strengthen the physical element in the roosters game. After an injury, Richardson missed the entire second half of the season and could no longer appear for the Roosters.
He then spent two years in North America again, this time in the lower class UHL and the CHL. From 2008 he played in the Elite Ice Hockey League for the Nottingham Panthers . There it developed into a crowd favorite and received various awards for it. Shortly after the season, Richardson extended his contract for a year.
In May 2010 he was hired by the newly founded Braehead Clan as a player- coach. After the 2010/11 season, he ended his involvement in the EIHL and then became head coach of the Châteauguay Patriotes from the QMAAA, a lower-class Canadian junior league.
