Matthias Albrecht starts for WSV Oberhof 05 . In 2009 he took part in a junior world championship in summer biathlon for the first time and was 25th in the sprint and 23rd in the pursuit at the competitions in Oberhof . Just a few weeks earlier, he won the relay title for Thuringia with Paul Böttner and Robert Janikulla at the 2009 German Championships in Zinnwald .
