Paul Böttner (born September 2, 1988 ) is a German cross-country summer biathlete and target sprint athlete.

Paul Böttner starts like his brother Max Böttner for SV Eintracht Frankenhain , is trained by Herbert Wiegand and lives in Graefenroda . At the German Championships in the summer biathlon 2008 in Bayerisch Eisenstein, together with Marcel Bräutigam and Erik Lahl, representing Thuringia, he won the title of German champion with the small- bore rifle relay. In 2008 he also took part in a junior world championship in summer biathlon for the first time and was 14th in the sprint and tenth in the pursuit at the competitions in Haute-Maurienne . The following year he reached 21st place in the sprint and 15th in the pursuit at the Junior World Championships in Oberhof . Just a few weeks earlier, he won the relay title for Thuringia with Matthias Albrecht and Robert Janikulla at the 2009 German Championships in Zinnwald . Before that, Böttner competed in the European Junior Championships and finished 31st in the sprint and seventh with Lena Schäfer , Anna Wahls and Niklas Heyser in the mixed relay. At the 2010 DM in Zinnwald, he won silver in the small-bore sprint behind Steffen Jabin and the title in the KK relay race with Jabin and his brother.

At the Summer Biathlon European Championships 2011 in Martell , Böttner took part in an international championship in the performance area for the first time. He was 17th in the sprint and 16th in the pursuit race.
