The water grape ( Spongomonas uvella ) is a colony-forming , unicellular eukaryote from the genus Spongomonas . The habitat of Spongomonas uvella is very clean, standing water.

features

The cells are 8 to 12 micrometers in size. The colonies are approximately 50 micrometers in size. At first they are cushion-shaped, later they straighten up and subdivide into numerous end lobes. The end pieces are each formed by an oval cell with 2 flagella. These are 2 to 3 times as long as the body.
