Angel Nikolov (born November 18, 1975 in Most , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech ice hockey player who was last under contract with Aksam Unia Oświęcim in the Polish Ekstraliga .

Career

Angel Nikolov began his career as a hockey player at HC Litvínov , for which he was active in the extra league from 1993 to 2001 . During this period he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 1994 in the second round as a total of 37th player by the San Jose Sharks , for which he never played. From 2001 to 2003 the defender was on his first engagement abroad for JYP Jyväskylä in the Finnish SM-liiga on before he long for also two seasons Metallurg Novokuznetsk in the Russian Super League was on the ice, where he the 2004/05 season when Mora IK finished in the Swedish Elitserien .

From 2005 to 2009 Nikolov was under contract with numerous clubs in his Czech homeland. These were in the extra league of HC Sparta Prague , Bílí Tygři Liberec , HC Znojemští Orli , his ex-club HC Litvínov, HC Plzeň and HC Pardubice , as well as HC Oceláři Třinec , as well as in the second-class 1st division of KLH Chomutov . The former junior international was last on the ice for ERC Ingolstadt in the German Ice Hockey League in the 2009/10 season . For this he gave two assists in a total of 31 games. After his contract in Ingolstadt was not renewed, he moved to the Nottingham Panthers in the Elite Ice Hockey League . For the 2011/12 season he joined HC Amiens Somme from the French Ligue Magnus .

International

Nikolov took part in the 1995 World Junior Championship for the Czech Republic . In this he scored one goal in seven games.
