Career

Jimmy Roy played for two years at Michigan Technological University , for whose team he participated in the game operations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association , and in 1996 he joined Team Canada , with whom he took part in the Spengler Cup in Switzerland, among other things . The right-handed shooter, who was drawn in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft as a total of 254th by the Dallas Stars , then signed a trial contract with the Manitoba Moose in the IHL , for which he was on the ice for nine seasons. In a total of 603 games in the IHL and after its dissolution in the American Hockey League, he scored 228 points . To this day, Roy holds the team records in games, goals, penalty minutes, underpaid goals, winning goals and shots on goal and is also at the forefront of templates, points and the plus / minus balance.

In recent years, Jimmy Roy was no longer used because of the veterans rule of the AHL, so he moved to the Iserlohn Roosters in the German ice hockey league in the 2006/07 season. In December 2006, the Roosters extended the contract with the Canadian for two more years until 2009. In the 2007/08 season , Roy reached the playoffs for the first time with the Roosters. After he became one of the most important players in the Sauerland, his contract was renewed for two years in December 2008. As in the previous year, he finished the season with 32 points. In the 2009/10 season he played, as in previous years, with Ryan Ready . Brian Swanson , later Quinn Hancock , acted as the center of the two wingers . In early October 2009, Roy scored a hat trick against the Kassel Huskies . On the 22nd day of the match, the Canadian tore a muscle fiber in the game against the Augsburg Panthers and was out for four weeks. After returning to the team, he was unable to continue his usual performance until the end of the season.

On August 4, 2011, he ended his active career with the Iserlohn Roosters in order to work in the management of the Winnipeg Jets in the NHL.
