Mark McArthur (born November 16, 1975 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey goalkeeper who last played in the 2009/10 season at SC Riessersee in the 2nd Bundesliga ice hockey .

Career

Mark McArthur played in the 1991/92 season with the Peterborough Jr. Petes in the COJHL . After a season with the Petes McArthur moved to Guelph Storm , where he received in the 1994/95 season together with Andy Adams the Dave Pinkney Trophy for the lowest average goal conceded in the OHL season. McArthur was drafted in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft in the 5th round in 112th position by the New York Islanders . For the 1995/96 season he moved to the Utah Grizzlies , where he first played for three seasons. In the 1998/99 season McArthur completed a game for the Utah Grizzlies in which he conceded five goals. The rest of the 1998/99 season spent McArthur for a year with the Lowell Lock Monsters . McArthur played the 1999/2000 season for the Austrian club VEU Feldkirch . For the 2000/01 season, the goalkeeper then moved to Great Britain, more precisely to Guildford to the Guildford Flames , for which he played two seasons before returning to Feldkirch.

After the 2002/03 and 2003/04 seasons, he then moved to the USA for the Kansas City Outlaws for one season . In this season McArthur played in the Netherlands with the Amsterdam Bulldogs , with whom he became Dutch champion in 2004. After this season, McArthur then moved to southern Germany to the 10-time German ice hockey champion SC Riessersee in the 2nd ice hockey Bundesliga . There he stood between the posts for a full five seasons. When SC Riessersee failed in the pre-play-offs at ESV Kaufbeuren in the 2009/10 season and the hole in the club's treasury grew bigger, the SCR could only be relegated to the top division. For the crowd favorite Mark McArthur, this meant the end at SC Riessersee, as foreign goalkeepers are not eligible to play in the major league and he was still two years away for a German passport.

McArthur was in the squad of the United Nations team in all ESBG Allstar Games played so far (2006, 2007, 2008).
