Dave Scatchard (born February 20, 1976 in Hinton , Alberta ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who played 676 games for the Vancouver Canucks , New York Islanders , Boston Bruins , Phoenix Coyotes , Nashville Predators during his playing career between 1993 and 2011 and St. Louis Blues in the National Hockey League on the position of the center .
Career
The 1.88 m tall center began his professional career with the Portland Winter Hawks in the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League , before being selected ( drafted ) from the National Hockey League by the Vancouver Canucks as 42nd in the second round in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft . has been.
This first used the right-handed shooter with the Syracuse Crunch , their farm team in the American Hockey League . His first NHL missions completed Scatchard in the 1997/98 season , in which he could play in the regular squad of the Canucks. During the 1999/00 season , the attacker was finally transferred from Vancouver to the New York Islanders , for whom he was on the ice until the lockout in the 2004/05 season . After a brief engagement with the Boston Bruins , the Canadian moved to the Phoenix Coyotes in 2005 , but he was never able to assert himself due to injuries. Since the end of a brief engagement with the Milwaukee Admirals from the AHL in December 2007, Scatchard was listed as a free agent .
In October 2009 he was finally signed by the Nashville Predators from the NHL after a break of almost two years . They provided him with a two-year contract valid for the NHL and AHL, after which they gave him to their farm team, the Milwaukee Admirals, in the AHL. On August 4, 2010, he signed as a free agent with the St. Louis Blues , but was used almost exclusively in the AHL with the Peoria Rivermen in the 2010/11 season . In August 2011 he ended his career for health reasons after repeatedly suffering concussions. On the advice of his doctors, Scatchard withdrew from professional sports.
