The Spengler Cup 2008 ( French Coupe Spengler 2008 ) was the 82nd edition of the competition of the same name and took place from December 26th to 31st, 2008 in the Swiss climatic health resort of Davos . The local Vaillant Arena acted as the venue . A total of 70,159 spectators attended the eleven tournament games, which corresponds to an average of 6,378 per game.

It was won by HK Dynamo Moscow , who won the tournament with a 5-3 victory in the final over the defending champions Team Canada . In the qualification, the Canadians had clearly won the game 6: 3. For Dynamo Moscow it was the second victory at the Spengler Cup ever after the team  won the cup for the first time exactly 25 years ago - in 1983 .

The Russian Dmitri Afanassenkow in the service of HK Dynamo Moscow was the most successful player in the tournament with seven points , including four goals.

The five participating teams initially played in a single round in the " everyone against everyone " mode , so that each team played four games. The two teams with the best points after completing the ten qualifying games finally determined the tournament winner in an additional game.
