Thomas Greilinger (born August 6, 1981 in Deggendorf ) is a German ice hockey player who has been playing for Deggendorfer SC from the Oberliga Süd again since 2019 .

Career

At his home club, the Deggendorfer EC , Thomas Greilinger was discovered in the major league for the German national team . The professional career of the winger began in the 1999/00 season with the Munich Barons , with whom he won the German championship in the same year . The right-handed shooter completed the following season with the Schwenninger Wild Wings and moved from there to the Nürnberg Ice Tigers . Greilinger stayed there until they parted ways a little later, due to personal problems with the then coach of the Ice Tigers, Greg Poss . The attacker was then transferred to Adler Mannheim in exchange for Tomáš Martinec , who after a good start also parted from the Bavarian by mutual agreement during the 2004/05 season . In the 2005/06 season , Greilinger finally wanted to celebrate his comeback with the Straubing Tigers in the 2nd Bundesliga , which however did not succeed due to a knee injury.

After a long rehabilitation treatment, the Iserlohn Roosters signed Greilinger for the 2006/07 season . After a knee injury at the Inline Hockey World Cup , the attacker ended his professional career at the age of 24 and did not start the contract in Iserlohn. After the doctors gave him the green light to continue his career as an amateur player, he moved to the Bavarian ice hockey league for Deggendorfer SC . After two seasons in Deggendorf, Greilinger signed a contract with ERC Ingolstadt for the 2008/09 season and thus returned to the German Ice Hockey League. In 2014 he won the German championship with the ERC for the second time in his career. At the beginning of 2015 he extended his contract to 2018. After the defeat of ERC Ingolstadt in the seventh game of the quarter-finals against the Kölner Haie on March 31, 2019, he ended his career in the DEL and returned to his home club.

Greilinger is the player with the most games (580), the most goals (219), the most assists (269) and the most scorer points (488) in the ERC Ingolstadt's DEL history.
