The Spengler Cup 1990 ( French Coupe Spengler 1990 ) was the 64th edition of the competition of the same name and took place from December 26th to 31st, 1990 in the Swiss climatic health resort of Davos . The ice rink there served as the venue .

It was won by HK Spartak Moscow , who won the tournament with an 8: 3 victory in the final over Team Canada . In the qualification, the Canadians had just won the game 3-2. It was Spartak's fifth tournament success after 1980 , 1981 , 1985 and 1989 . The host HC Davos did not take part in the tournament and was represented on the Swiss side by the EHC Kloten .

mode

The five participating teams initially played in a single round in the " everyone against everyone " mode , so that each team played four games. The two teams with the best points after completing the ten qualifying games finally determined the tournament winner in an additional game.
