The Spengler Cup 1924 ( French Coupe Spengler 1924 ) was the second edition of the competition of the same name and took place from 26 to 27 December 1924 in the Swiss climatic health resort of Davos . The ice rink there served as the venue .

The tournament was won by the Berliner SC team , who defeated HC Davos 5-2 in the final.

Participant and mode

Compared to the previous year, the field of participants was increased to seven teams. In addition to last year's participants - the University of Oxford , the Berliner Schlittschuhclub , the Wiener EV and the host HC Davos - were new to the Zürcher SC , the Pötzleinsdorfer SK and the crew of MTV Munich , which is at the invitation of the SC Riessersee connected would have. The participation of German teams was actually prohibited, as Germany was still excluded from the world association LIHG as a result of the First World War. The competition games were therefore officially played as friendly games. After the Spengler Cup, the international Coupe de Davos was held, in which teams from Prague, Milan and Madrid also took part, the winner was Oxford University.

In the first round, the participants were played in the semifinals, with the previous year's winner, the University of Oxford team, having a bye. This was followed by a final game and a game for third place. Two halves of 20 minutes each were played.
